We had our ceremony at Saint Peter Catholic Church, and it was an absolute dream. It felt like a movie walking down the aisle! We had candles and lanterns lining the aisle, and it was so beautiful. Music is really important to me and Tim, and thankfully our priest let us use all of our own music, which meant so much. I walked down the aisle to a song I had dreamed of walking down the aisle to, and it was absolute perfection!! It was a piano version of Pachabel’s Cannon, mixed with U2 With or Without you. I was a little psycho about my vision for this, and luckily it worked out perfectly, haha. I remember squaring off with the church lady, she was trying to get me to start walking, and I was like no no ma’am, this is not my part yet. Talk about control issues right?
We played instrumental Ed Sheeran, Perfect”(also our first dance) during the Unity Candle portion, and I feel it is important to mention that I did try to blow out the unity candle, so there’s that, haha. Luckily it didn’t go out, so that has to be a good sign right? Also supplied some comic relief for the audience. Our first kiss as husband and wife was perfection, and reminded me so much of our actual first kiss. We walked out of the church to instrumental Starship, Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now, and even though I almost fell, it was still a dream. (You try walking in 4 inch sparkly heels, and 10 pounds of tulle!!)
