In the spirit of Thanksgiving and Fall coming to a close, we thought we'd share with you one of our favorite Fall weddings we've ever seen. We adore Kristina and cannot wait to share her sweet day with y'all!
We hope you enjoy and we wish y'all the happiest of Thanksgivings. Xo!
Give us a glimpse into you and your hubs's love story:
Blake & I met through mutual friends in January 2014. We were at one of their houses with a group of people when I saw him for the first time, and he offered me a cup of hot chocolate by saying, "I was instructed to give this to you!" Something in his eyes and voice just made me fall in love with him at first sight, and it wasn't long before we had our first date, fell in love, and started making plans for the future. We got engaged in October 2015 after a day at Keeneland (hot chocolate included!), and our wedding day took place on November 19, 2016. Today we are coming up on our first anniversary and expecting a baby boy in February! We are so blessed...I have no doubt that God brought us together, and now He is building our little family!
What was it about your dress that made you realize it was "the one?" Was it what you expected to love/wear? Favorite memory from dress shopping/Twirl?
When I was first obsessing over Pinterest wedding dresses, I was convinced I was going to get a Kate Middleton-esque gown with long sleeves, lace, and a train. When we planned our day in Lexington for dress shopping, Twirl stood out to us because it was such an adorable, girly shop! It was the first place we stopped, and as soon as we walked in I knew I would love it there. The girls were SO sweet and easy to work with, and they immediately put us at ease and made the whole process special and fun! I knew that the first one I tried on was "the one" right away, because it just felt and looked perfect! I wanted to try on a few more, but kept coming back to it. It wasn't the same look I had originally been searching for - I liked this one so much better! The illusion lace and the detailed back along with the fit & flare bottom made me feel like a princess.
What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?
My favorite moment from our wedding day was our first look. It was just the two of us (other than our photographer & videographer) and it was such a perfect moment. We were both so genuinely excited to see each other and looking forward to finally being husband and wife, and all of those emotions overshadowed any kind of nerves we would've been feeling.
What has been the best thing about marriage so far?
To me, the best thing about marriage is being a family with your soulmate. Even before you have children, you move from just having a relationship, to being a household - a family! Having your husband there to do life with, to be your teammate, and to have fun with is truly a gift from God.
Any pieces of wisdom or advice you'd like to share with future brides, engaged gals, or newlyweds like yourself?
The best advice I can give new brides is this: DON'T STRESS! This is your wedding and it only happens once! It's a celebration of your love, and you don't want to let that become secondary to stress, or nerves, and especially not to perfectionism. Everything will not be Pinterest-perfect, and that's ok! In fact, don't try so hard to make it something specific. Things will fall into place better than you can imagine while you're planning. Just relax and enjoy - and most importantly, remember the real reason for the day!
