I am back from the most amazing week of my life.  Brandon and I are seriously blown away by the outpouring of love we experienced for our wedding.  Words cannot fully explain all of the emotions that have occurred over the past week and a half.  Every moment was everything I had ever dreamed of.  The weather was perfect, the setting was perfect, and we were surrounded by people that love us…and best of all we are now married!

This week I just wanted to do a short blog thanking our wonderful bridal party, our loving families and all our vendors that worked tirelessly to make it all happen.  Next week I am going to re-cap everything with a fresh mind (everything is still so emotional right now) and give you a few wedding event tips that I hope will help make your day even better.

And of course…here are a few pictures to share as well!  We have gotten several from friends and family and a couple from our photographer, In Retrospect Photography, as a preview!!

It is official…I am now OBSESSED with the bridesmaid dresses I just received!!!  Since we have a whole 38 days left until our wedding I couldn’t resist sharing these gorgeous dresses with you all a tad early!  They are the Stella dress by Thread in Fuchsia Matte Silk (Mini length).  Now just picture them on 6 beautiful girls holding ivory peonies in front of a big white 1800s mansion on a late spring day in Kentucky.  Oh. My. Gosh.  So excited!

Thread Stella Dress in Fuchsia Matte Silk

This week we decided to choose a classic, elegant dress that will never go out of style.  It is the Thread Tyler dress.  Dubbed the “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” dress, it has a folded boatneck, natural waist and comes in 4 different lengths and 4 different fabrics!  The mini length starts at $290.  It has been quite popular among Lexington brides…especially those going for a vintage, classy Audrey Hepburn look.

Kim and Ryan tied the knot at the beautiful and modern Tempe Center for the Arts in Tempe, Arizona.

The gorgeous photographs from their big day were captured by photographer David DeDios.

Kim’s girls wore the adorable “Melanie” dress from the Thread Collection and they looked fabulous! This dress has several options for fabric and color and they chose to do it in the blackberry duchess satin, which we love!

Kim and Ryan, thanks for letting Twirl be a part of your special day. We wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Teri and Danny were married at the beautiful Inn at Rancho Santa Fe in Rancho Santa Fe, California.

The girls wore the fabulous “Stella” dress from the Thread Collection, and they totally rocked it! The dresses perfectly complemented the Bride and Groom’s vintage garden themed wedding, and the wicker color was just right against Teri’s cream colored wedding gown. The best part of this dress is that it looks great on all body types, including the two pregnant bridesmaids (bet you couldn’t even tell!)

Teri and Danny’s day was a complete DIY wedding planned by the bride along with the help from her wonderful family and friends.

So, over the past month I have had multiple brides come to me with the idea that they are going to have their bridesmaids in white  just like them. At first I was a little taken back by it… but the more I hear the bride’s vision, the more the idea starts to grow on me. Below is a picture of a bridal party that was all allowed to choose their own, white dress. The designer of choice: THREAD.

After hundreds of years of weddings, I think we can agree that it has ALL been done! There is no color scheme that hasn’t been tested. No crazy dress that hasn’t been worn. No venue that hasn’t already been chosen. It’s even hard to come up with a first song that has never been danced to.

So I think the fact that it has all been done before is causing brides to strive even more to bring out their creative side. The couple brides that have the vision of an all white wedding have said to me, “I don’t know anyone that has ever done it before”. And aside from the fact that I currently have 3 brides all with that idea… they are right. It is not common to have the bridesmaids in WHITE!!!!

Aside from being different, it also gives off a very clean, crisp look. In the picture below, they even kept the theme going with the flowers. Again, not as common, but it looks great. And having the guys not wear the traditional tux… also stepping outside the box.

.

You have to admit, this wedding party is looking good. They chose dresses from Jim Hjelm, Melissa Sweet and Alvina Valenta.

I’m not going to lie… when it comes time for my wedding, I may not rule this idea out! I would however, choose some fabulously bright colored, fun shoes for the girls to wear and have the flowers match. I mean, I have to at least stand out a little on my big day!

The more I see it, the more it is growing on me! ;)
