Twirl Goes to Bridal Fashion Market {NYC}

Twirl Goes to Bridal Fashion Market {NYC}

The Twirl girls ventured out of the Bluegrass and into The Big Apple for an exciting weekend at Bridal Fashion Market! This long anticipated weekend did not disappoint and we couldn’t wait to get back and share some of the latest trends for the 2014 bridal season with you all! We picked up some lovely pieces for our bridal, bridesmaid, and accessories collections we know you are going to adore.
We always enjoy getting the opportunity to meet with our designers in person and hear about the inspiration behind their collections. Getting to actually touch and feel the fabric & see all of the gorgeous details up close is one of the great perks of attending market -- not to mention the fabulous parties, complementary goodies, boundless shopping, and delicious food! Needless to say..we had an AMAZING time!

There are some interesting new trends in bridal wear. Some that we’ve seen before and are recycling their way back in, and others that are brand new & making their debut in wedding fashion! Here are a few of our favorites:
1. 50 Shades of Pink! Blush, peach, rose, and even moscato colored wedding dresses hit the runway this year in New York. Colored gowns were one of the biggest trends we noticed all weekend – dresses ranging from pastel blue to rustic alabaster!

2.  Lingerie Straps were seen on several gowns this past weekend. These delicate straps  add a bit of sexiness to any classic design. One of our favorites was this Hayley Paige ball gown with crystal beaded lingerie straps and a flowing horse hair skirt.

  3. Jacquard Fabrics/Printed Gowns is a unique trend that hit the market this year. The textured fabrics with floral prints are going to be a big hit this season judging by all the buzz we received on social media!

4. Sparkles, sparkles, and sparkles! There is a strong trend this year toward beaded embellishments, from bridal belts to bodices entirely covered in rhinestones.

  5. Interesting Backs stole the show this year from daring dips to intricate beadwork. It makes sense for the back of your gown to be interesting considering it is the angle  your guests will be looking at for the majority of the ceremony!

 We had an absolute blast in the city picking out the latest designs for our Kentucky brides.  When we shop for gowns, it is important for us to keep in mind the styles, fabrics, and silhouettes our brides have been asking for so we are sure to select the best dresses for our boutique.  We hope you are as excited as we are to see these new styles at Twirl! For more information about any of these dresses you can call us at 859.309.2493 or e-mail at ty@twirllexington.com.
