REAL TWIRL WEDDING || WHITNEY + JUSTIN

REAL TWIRL WEDDING || WHITNEY + JUSTIN

You all! I cannot wait to share Whitney and Justin's amazing wedding with you!! This couple's love & joy RADIATE throughout their entire day. I just want to be best friends with them and hang out together all the time because it's obvious that a good time is always had with these two!

Whitney will forever be one of our favorite brides. We got to celebrate with her during our Heidi Elnora trunkshow in February 2016 and there wasn't a dry eye in the house when she said "yes" to her dream dress! Such a sweet memory we will always cherish. Read about her experience HERE.

We hope you enjoy Whitney & Justin's day as much as we do!

Can you give us a glimpse into you & your hubs's love story?

Justin and I met in March of 2011 at Poynter’s Iron Pit gym in Richmond, KY as we were both students at EKU. After training together for about a month we decided to go on our first date outside of the gym. We spent hours together that night laughing at Zach Galifianakis videos on YouTube and that is when I realized I had found the one my soul loves! Over the next few  years, Justin and I feel deeper in love with each other every single day! We shared many adventures together to Disney World, baseball games, holiday celebrations and all kinds of things in between but the most surprising adventure of all was our Thanksgiving morning sunrise mini hike on November 26th, 2015.

Justin and I had gone to visit his family for Thanksgiving. We had decided that before going to Thanksgiving dinner that we would go on a morning hike.  Justin was up before the crack of dawn, repetitively asking me to get up and get ready. I finally got out of bed and got ready then we hit the road with his parents to Cumberland Gap National Park to take a mini hike to the Pinnacle Overlook, an amazing overlook view into Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia. Once at the top of the Pinnacle, the sun had just started to rise and I of course began taking pictures of the breath taking sight. Justin’s parents offered to take a picture of the two of us in front of the sunrise, which was something I wanted so I thought nothing of it.  After a few posed picture, Justin dropped to one knee just as the sun was peeking over the mountains! He started off holding my hand and saying “Girl, I love you so much and I’ve made you wait long enough…..” from there on I believe the sound of my heart beat drowned out everything else because neither of the two of us recall what exactly was said. He ended with “Will you marry me?” and my so suprised reply was a very confident “YEAH!” almost as if I should have just said “DUH!” haha

Thanksgiving 2015, I had something very exciting to be thankful for! The date just seemed to be so perfect that we decided to make the same date of the following year our wedding date, 11/26/2016! We spent the year wedding planning and celebrating as much as we could and our wedding day was here before we knew it. Everything about our wedding was exactly how I have always dreamed it would be! Our outdoor November ceremony was a Fall dream come true, my dress was everything I wanted it to be and my husband was the most handsome I had ever seen him! Our ceremony was absolutely beautiful and our reception was a blast, the most fun I have ever had! Our wedding day was truly the best day of my entire life and I am so thankful that we made so many wonderful memories that day!

What was it about your dress that made you realize it was "the one?" Was it what you expected to love/wear? Favorite memory from dress shopping/Twirl?

My wedding dress shopping experience at Twirl was absolutely amazing! I attended the Heidi Elnora Trunk show with my sister (Maid of Honor), my mom, my mother-in-law, and my junior bridesmaid. After trying on only three dresses I was saying “YES” to the dress! The girls at Twirl and Heidi made me feel so special and so beautiful that day!

I went into Twirl with the vision of a ball gown style wedding dress with long lace sleeves. The first two dresses I tried on were ball gown dresses but were not exactly what I had in my head that I wanted. My friend Maria, who models for Heidi, was also at the event that day. She recommended that I try on a fitted trumpet style dress from Heidi’s Build a Bride collect and add a tulle skirt on top of that to give me the ball gown feel I had envisioned. We were also able to added a long sleeve lace cover up to complete the look and give me the dress of my dreams! As soon as I saw the complete look I knew that this was “the one”, this was my wedding dress!

My favorite memory from that day was realizing that I had found my dress and the tears that came shortly after. There was not a dry eye in the shop in that moment! Lots of hugs were exchanged, there were tons of tears and tissues, and many pictures that I will cherish forever!

What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?

My favorite memory from our wedding day was seeing Justin with tears in his eyes as I walked down the aisle! Looking back at the pictures of him in that moment still makes me so emotional! Our exchanging of vows is also a memory that I will hold in my heart forever! Justin really wanted us to write our own wedding vows and even though I was somewhat nervous about that, I am so thankful that we did it! It was such an overwhelming  feeling to listen to him and to know that those vows were from his heart and all the things that he wanted to promise to me forever on our wedding day!

What has been the best thing about marriage so far?

The best thing about marriage so far has been building our lives together as husband and wife. The night of our wedding we stayed in our new home for the first time! We have made a house our home together, we got our first puppy this summer, and we are are quickly approaching our first anniversary!  It is so crazy how quickly our first year of marriage has passed. I absolutely love being married to my best friend!

Any pieces of wisdom or advice you'd like to share with future brides, engaged gals, or newlyweds like yourself?

The best piece of wisdom I can share with any future bride is to make sure that you enjoy every single second of being engaged, wedding planning, and your big day! Try your best not to stress and always remember that everything that is happening is all because two people fell in love! Don’t let anyone take your excitement away from you, or make you feel like you are over or under doing things… go with your heart and do everything exactly how you and your future husband what your wedding day to be! Remember that at the end of the day, you will be able to call the love of your life your husband and that is such an amazing feeling! There is something about the realization of being married that makes you fall in love with your husband all over again!
