Usually Liz is on this side of the blog posts...she's the face behind all of Twirl's social media, but what many don't know is the journey of how Liz became my partner in crime.
In January 2014 I received an email about a program called Bluegrass Fellows through Tates Creek Presbyterian Church. They were looking to place this fabulous college graduate named Elizabeth Cox in a business that would support her spiritual growth in the professional world and provide mentorship as she branches out on her own. Well. Let's just say it was love at first resume glance! I knew from the minute I Facebook stalked her that she and I would hit it off. Elizabeth came in to meet with us and I hired her on the spot. We had to wait a whole 6 months for her to graduate and start her job, but boy was it worth it!
After we figured out she would like to be called Liz (we like to joke that she has a split personality of Elizabeth/Liz)...she began her work with us and she took over all of our social media outlets and truly transformed our online presence. She has a passion for making things pretty and she has a God given gift for doing so. She has a beautiful heart and soul and that shines through in everything she touches.
Over the next several months while I was on maternity leave, Liz became an integral part of our team and we bonded even more. Liz is one of the most real, down to earth and gracious people you will ever meet. Through many conversations, kitchen counseling sessions and late night texting about the most random things in the world...she has become someone I could never imagine life without. She always has the right words to share and brought me back to focus on why I opened Twirl in the first place. She has simply made me a better person, and for that I am so thankful for August 20, the day she graced the Earth with her presence.
I will never forget the day we had the conversation about her becoming manager. We both work in a similar way...organized chaos...and I needed to make sure we could hone that chaos to make it work enough so the world didn't see our mayhem. Well. I think we can say almost two years later that we make it work. And work very well. In that short time we have opened Meant to Be Boutique together and an organization called The Joyful Day Giveaway.
The sky is the limit when Elizabeth/Liz is in the picture. Life is more fun with her, too. Cheers to you, sister! We love you and your heart dearly! Happy 25th Birthday! We cannot wait to see what the future holds for you, sweet friend.
