Twirl Lexington Holiday Hours:

Twirl Lexington is seeking a self-motivated, quick learning, highly personable & outgoing individual for a part-time position beginning in January or February. 

Retail sales experience is a plus, along with computer skills and organization is a must. Interns will be working directly with the owner of Twirl and will work as a team along with other bridal consultants. 

Job responsibilities included but are not limited to: answering phones, making appointments, greeting and helping take care of customer needs, running bridal and bridal party appointments, fittings, consulting customers about sizing, completing customer order forms, taking customer payment, shipping and receiving. 

Must have weekday availability Tuesdays and Thursdays (10-6) as well as Saturdays (10-5) and Sundays (12-4).

The bakery is owned by Martine and Jim Holzman.  Martine is originally from France, but has been in the US for many years.  Everything is made from scratch and she even imports the chocolate and raspberry used in her cakes from France.  Once you take a single bite of her pastries you will be hooked!  Everything is so flavorful and practically melts in your mouth. 

All wedding cakes are custom made and arranged in advance by appointment.  During each consultation, Martine sits down with you to get an idea of what style and flavors you have in mind.  She has many photo albums to look at and see what styles you prefer.  In our case, we combined elements of several different cakes and Martine sketched it all out for us in front of our eyes to make sure we were all on the same page!  The consultation also includes a complimentary tasting.  Each of the ones we tasted were all so delicious we chose them all:)  Flavors vary from classic white/yellow butter to bourbon to pistachio!  YUM!  We chose chocolate for Brandon’s grooms cake and it was amazing, of course.

Martine’s Pastries also has a new addition to their bakery as well.  She now has pastries available daily in the shop such as fruit tarts, cream puffs and cupcakes.  Martine was kind enough to treat me to a chocolate cupcake with peanut butter icing when I visited last week.  Oh. My. Gosh.  It was delicious!!

What I’ve seen that works best is when brides stick to a different shade of the same color, or different colors but still on the same side of the color wheel.   Most designers set up their swatch cards in this sort of  fashion.  Which is a good place to start.

Some examples we have seen are one bride had her girl’s all wear different shades of blue, from light to medium to dark.  Another choose all different pale colors.  And my recent favorite picked three dresses in shades of blue/green.    She choose the beautiful Amsale dress style G426C shown below in the colors hydrangea, pacific, and ocean.  She is going to keep the bouquets in a simple cream wrapped with twine.  I can’t wait to see her pictures.  It is going to look amazing.
