When Elizabeth and her family first stepped into Twirl Lexington I could immediately tell they had impeccable taste and just exuded southern grace and charm.  I knew her wedding was going to be beautiful with her incredible color palette of charcoal and soft pink!  The photos certainly prove that…

Elizabeth and Matthew were married May 28, 2011 at Central Christian Church with the reception being held at the Keene Barn at Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, Ky.  The couple first met at as students at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina.  They both served as upperclassman staff on freshmen residence halls and began an instant friendship.  After spending many hours studying in the library together, they finally went on their first date and the rest is history!

Above all, they wanted their wedding to be a celebration!  Elizabeth and Matt both grew up in small towns, but eventually ended up in bigger cities. They wanted their wedding style to reflect both small town roots and big city flair and they pulled it all together with the help of Great Expectations.

Congratulations, Elizabeth and Matthew!  Twirl Lexington wishes you a lifetime of happiness!

Tiffany was such a fun, easy-going bride to work with.  In fact, on her first trip to Twirl Lexington she picked out bridesmaid dresses during a Jenny Yoo Trunk Show without anyone even trying them on!  She is certainly a lady who knows what she wants and goes for it!

Tiffany and Drew

Tiffany and Drew met through mutual law school friends at Harvey’s, right here in Lexington.  They were married April 30, 2011 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Lexington and their reception was held at the Lexington Country Club.  Another very big Royal wedding happened to take place the same weekend as Tiffany and Drew’s, if you recall!  Tiffany and Drew certainly showed their sense of humor and surprised their rehearsal dinner guests with a very unique invitation!

Tiffany described her style as tradition and guest-centric.  They wanted everyone to have fun and enjoy the evening.  Tiffany chose cheery, bright citrus colors to showcase Spring in the Bluegrass.  The bridesmaids wore three different styles of Jenny Yoo Collection dresses in Tangerine.  For their bridesmaid gifts, Tiffany had each bridesmaid a custom necklace made by Lulubelles (sold at Twirl Lexington).

Thank you, Tiffany and Drew for sharing your photos (all by Angela Baldridge) with Twirl and allowing us to play a small role in your big day!

Best wishes!

When Neeley called to make her first appointment at Twirl she was so sweet and I could just tell she was going to be a fun bride!  Neeley was planning an outdoor wedding in July at Talon Winery in Lexington, KY and had a specific color purple bridesmaid dress she was trying to find.  The color inspiration??  Neeley has a super creative mind and found purple pashmina wraps on sale at Pier One and wanted to use them as her table runners.  The end result was beautiful!!

Neeley chose bridesmaid dresses by After Six in African Violet.  This sweetheart style is so classic and pretty and looks good on many different body types.

Thank you to Neeley for letting Twirl play a small role in your big day and to Nelson Benton Photography for the gorgeous pictures!  Congratulations on your marriage!

We just received our wedding photo book and CD of files this week and to say that I am obsessed with my wedding photos would be a vast understatement!  I thought I would share the detail shots with everyone for ideas for your own weddings.  Especially the bridesmaid and mothers attire…it is all from Twirl!!

A special thanks to In Retrospect Photography for the beautiful shots!

Enjoy!

Jamie and Emile were married on a beautiful late Kentucky spring day on May 29, 2010.  Jamie lives in Los Angeles, but knew she wanted to come home to Lexington for her big day.  Planning the wedding from across the country was a huge task to undertake, but with the help of Always Planned, the results were stunning!  If you have not been to the Headley-Whitney Museum it is well worth a visit.

Jamie just shared these photos from her wedding with us by her photographer Harper Smith Photography yesterday and I knew I had to share them immediately! Jamie’s navy, green and accents of blue created a very classic, beautiful feel for the wedding.  Her bridesmaids were outfitted in After Six Style 6553 in Blueberry Taffeta.  This style suits many body types and is such a timeless dress!

Congratulations to Jamie and Emile!  We wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Natasha was one of the very first brides to come through the doors of Twirl Lexington.  From the moment she came in her sense of style and sweet personality came through.  Actually before Natasha even came in, one of her fabulous bridesmaids came in to check things out first and get an idea of what dresses we had to match the blush pink the bride had in mind!

Natasha and Morgan were married in a perfect outdoor setting in Morgan’s parent’s backyard in picturesque horse country in May.  The bridesmaids wore Dessy Collection styles 2787 and 2799 in Blush.  The effect was quite stunning!  In fact, after seeing Carrie Underwood’s wedding pictures I think she stole some ideas from Natasha…blush bridesmaid dress, pink sash on the wedding gown, and pink kissing balls!

A special thanks to Alumbra Photography for sharing these beautiful pictures with us!  Congratulations to Morgan and Natasha!  We wish you a lifetime of happiness.

Ruffle detail of Thread Stella Dress

It is official…I am now OBSESSED with the bridesmaid dresses I just received!!!  Since we have a whole 38 days left until our wedding I couldn’t resist sharing these gorgeous dresses with you all a tad early!  They are the Stella dress by Thread in Fuchsia Matte Silk (Mini length).  Now just picture them on 6 beautiful girls holding ivory peonies in front of a big white 1800s mansion on a late spring day in Kentucky.  Oh. My. Gosh.  So excited!

Thank you to all the ladies who have let Twirl be a part of their special day! You all look amazing! :)

The color green, that is – we can’t get enough of this apple green color for bridesmaid dresses.  Rachel’s bridesmaids chose different styles by Lynn Lugo  in Eastern Silk Shantung.  The backdrop for these photos was Different Pointe of View at The Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort.

What a beautiful setting in the Virgin Islands for Kate Stockwell and Chris Farrell to have an amazing beach wedding.  Kate’s bridesmaids wore dresses by Jenny Yoo.
